Nia Jax Reveals Just How Much Of Total Divas Was Scripted

Former WWE Superstar Nia Jax has lifted the lid on how much of the ‘reality’ TV series Total Divas was actually scripted.

Total Divas aired on the E! channel for six years from 2013-2019 with an ever-changing cast featuring the likes of the Bella Twins, Naomi, Paige, Renee Paquette, Maryse, and Ronda Rousey.

Nia Jax, who was released from WWE on November 4th, 2021, as part of ongoing budget cuts in the company, joined the show as a guest star in 2016 and was promoted to the main cast the following year.

During her time on the show, the former WWE Raw Women’s Champion shared had altercations with Maryse, revealed her nerves at wrestling the biggest match of her career at WrestleMania 34, and even faced her fears of climbing to the top turnbuckle.

During a recent Q+A on her personal Instagram story, Jax – real name Lina Fanene – was asked just how much of the show was pre-determined, and she revealed that it was “98% scripted”, adding a pair of laughing emojis.

During the same Q+A, she also addressed rumours that she would be a surprise entrant in this year’s Royal Rumble match.

Nia Jax was released from her WWE contract as part of the fifth round of talent releases carried out by the company in 2021 which saw 18 Superstars part ways with the company. Other high-profile names to be let go included former NXT Champions Karrion Kross & Keith Lee, former NXT Women’s Champion Ember Moon.
