Next Challenger For AEW World Women’s Title Decided At Battle Of The Belts

Mariah May Recieves Title Challenge For AEW Dynamite

AEW Women’s Champion Mariah May has a new challenger.

The Glamour won the title in her hometown at All In and has since defended it successfully on three occasions against Nyla Rose, Yuka Sakazaki, and Willow Nightingale.

On the October 16th edition of Dynamite, May conducted an interview backstage in which she declared she was on top of the mountain and that no woman in the locker room could touch her. The champion was then confronted by Anna Jay and a match was set up between the two at Battle of the Belts XII.

The Women’s Title Eliminator match was aired on October 19th and saw Jay score a shock victory, which earned her a title shot on the November 2nd episode of Collision.

Looking past the match with Anna Jay, Mariah May has come up with a new match type to hurt Toni Storm as much as possible.

The show also saw The Blackpool Combat Club retain the World Trios Championships in a match against the Dark Order, and Kazuchika Okada defeated Kyle O’Reilly in a Continental Championship bout.

Jon Moxley Explains His Hatred Of AEW World Title Belt

Since winning the title at WrestleDream, Jon Moxley has not been seen holding the championship and on Collision he revealed why.

“Regarding the AEW World Championship, nothing has changed, is different. Nothing changed last Saturday night, nothing has changed since the moment I arrived in AEW.

“Nobody owns that belt, it doesn’t belong to anybody. It’s not for Bryan Danielson or anybody else, it’s for the position, and only one man has ever sat in that chair. That is me.”

“Somebody spent a lot of money on that belt and it’s really supposed to mean something. It’s just gold and leather, and when I look at it, it’s a symbol of everything I hate in this sport.

“It’s a symbol of everything I’ve been fighting against in this business for years, everything that AEW was not supposed to be. If nobody else is going to say it, I’ll say it.”

In other news, Orange Cassidy has admitted he isn’t a leader in AEW.
