Roman Reigns will be making a rare appearance at a WWE live event on March 4th in Toronto, Canada.
Naturally, with Reigns on the card, he’s set to be involved with the biggest match on the night. The Tribal Chief hasn’t wrestled at a non-televised event since September 24th, 2022 when he defeated AJ Styles also in Canada.
It has now been announced that Reigns will be taking on Sami Zayn in a huge rematch from Elimination Chamber. The match has been confirmed by the Coca-Cola Coliseum.
Deleted Tweet Hinted At Sami Zayn’s WrestleMania Plans
The news from the Coca-Cola Coliseum comes after the venue announced a very different main event just a few days ago. In a tweet that was later deleted, the venue wrote that Zayn would be teaming with Kevin Owens to take on Reigns and Solo Sikoa. This is despite Zayn and Owens still being at odds on television.
However, it has been reported that the pair will reunite and take on The Usos at WrestleMania 39. This led to speculation that WWE was going to do something of a dry-run for the partnership against The Bloodline at the house show.
With Zayn out of World Title contention, WWE has seemingly become worried that his popularity could impact the success of the planned WrestleMania main event between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.
On the February 20th episode of Raw, Cody Rhodes came to the ring to cut a promo but was immediately interrupted by Paul Heyman. It has been reported in the days after the show that WWE made sure to have Rhodes’ interrupted as quickly as possible in an effort to stop fans chanting for Zayn during the segment. WWE was said to be “very concerned” about fans calling for Zayn and turning their back on the American Nightmare.
