News AEW Women’s Champion Crowned at Double Or Nothing

AEW Women's World Title unveiled at Revolution

Toni Storm has finally got revenge on the now-former AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter.

The rivalry between the pair extends all of the way back to Full Gear in November when Hayter pinned Storm to become Interim Champion. Her title reign was quickly upgraded to the “full” championship due to the continued absence of Thunder Rosa.

However, in recent months in partnership with Saraya and Ruby Soho, Storm has completely changed her outlook. Gone is the fan favourite that fans cheered ever since she debuted in AEW, replaced by a ruthless member of The Outcasts who will do anything to earn a win.

Hayter headed into the match carrying a shoulder injury, as well as being legitimately “banged up” and her title defence was over before it began. With Storm in the ring, Hayter’s music played and she failed to appear. When the music played for a second time, Hayter came stumbling onto the stage via beat down from Saraya and Soho.

The trio attacked the champion before the match started, but once the bell rang Hayter continued to fight. With the British star refusing to quit, Saraya was attacked by Britt Baker, while Ruby Soho was eventually taken out by Hikaru Shida.

Before being chased off Soho uncovered two turnbuckles and that proved to be the difference maker. While Hayter used one to her advantage briefly, Storm shoved her into the second before following up with Storm Zero for the win.
