WWE crowned a new World Heavyweight Champion tonight, as Jey Uso was put to sleep on RAW.
Tonight’s main event on WWE RAW saw Jey Uso defend the World Heavyweight Championship against the man he took the title from, Gunther. The match was made official weeks in advance, but heading in, everyone was backing The Main Event.
However, in a shocking turn of events, he failed to come out on top against The Ring General. Despite putting on an epic performance, Gunther proved to be too much for Jey Uso. Their gruelling match ended after Gunther managed to lock in the Sleeper Hold following several failed attempts.
There was no escaping for Jey Uso, but rather than tap out, he went down like a warrior, forcing the referee to call the match in Gunther’s favor.

Both men gave it their all, and it took everything in Gunther’s arsenal, including a Spear of his own, to finally wear down Uso. Regardless, it was a completely unexpected result, and it will be interesting to see how things go from here.
Jey Uso headed into WWE RAW beaten, battered, and bruised
One of the reasons why Jey Uso potentially lost tonight is his condition. Last week has been a tough one for Uso, as he has taken bump after bump, and as a result, walked in not at 100%.
It all started on last week’s episode of WWE RAW, when he took a couple of Tsunamis from Bronson Reed. A few days later, he was on the receiving end of a nasty hook from Logan Paul. Finally, at Money in the Bank, he was put through the wringer and even took an insane Asai Moonsault from The Maverick.
All this put together could’ve contributed to Uso’s loss. That being said, he is nothing if not mentally strong. He will bounce back from this, and hopefully, he can regain the moniker of world champion someday.
