A new title match has been officially confirmed for WWE SummerSlam.
WWE SummerSlam is just around the corner, and the excitement is palpable. It is a two-night event, and over the last few weeks, Triple H and Co. have been making sure the card is stacked.
Tonight, the Stamford-based promotion confirmed another major match for the Biggest Party of the Summer, and it’s a title match. The bout in question will see Dominik Mysterio defend his Intercontinental Championship against AJ Styles.
The Phenomenal One has been trying to get a match with Dirty Dom for quite some time. Unfortunately, the latter was not “medically cleared” for an in-ring return. Well, that changed tonight, as Mysterio blindsided Styles backstage before agreeing to the match at SummerSlam.

This match has been teased for a couple of months, and now fans will finally get to see it go down at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. It is sure to be an exciting affair.
AJ Styles’ CPR may have gotten Dominik Mysterio ready for WWE SummerSlam
Before this match was confirmed, Dominik Mysterio was mistakenly laid out by his own Judgment Day stablemate, Raquel Rodriguez. Big Mami Cool was aiming to hit Lyra Valyria, one of her opponents, but instead got Dirty Dom with a Big Boot.
The attack left Mysterio writhing in pain on the ground. That is, until AJ Styles came in. Eager to make sure the match happens at WWE SummerSlam, Styles did his best to get Mysterio back on his feet, including CPR. A couple of chest compressions in, and Dom Dom was back on his feet.
So, all things considered, the WWE Universe should be grateful to “doctor” AJ, because without him, there may have never been a title match to add to the card.
