New WWE SummerSlam 2023 Logo Revealed

Back in February, it was announced that the 2023 edition of SummerSlam would be taking place on August 5th inside Ford Field in Detroit, MI.

This marks the first time WWE will return to Ford Field since WrestleMania 23 in 2007, which featured the infamous Battle of the Billionaires.

Now, WWE have revealed the logo tied to the event, and it features strong ties to the location of the Biggest Party of the Summer. The new logo, first seen on WWE’s presale page for the event and shown below, features heavy influences from the automotive world, fitting for its Detroit setting. The logo also sports the blue and silver team colors of the Detroit Lions NFL team.

In last month’s press release announcing WWE’s return to Ford Field, Dan Ventrelle, EVP, Talent at WWE said that the company was excited to bring the event back to Michigan.

“We are excited for Ford Field to host WWE’s biggest event of the summer and look forward to the WWE Universe converging on Detroit to celebrate SummerSlam’s long-awaited return to Michigan.

“Landing WWE SummerSlam at Ford Field is a signature win for Detroit and continues the momentum of the Detroit Sports Commission in attracting major sporting events to the region,” said DSC Executive Director Dave Beachnau. “Metro Detroit enjoys a special place in WWE history and has produced many iconic moments. Thank you to the entire WWE family for entrusting us with this incredible opportunity, and we look forward to delivering a first-class experience.”

Becky Lynch Is Rumored To Face Trish Stratus At WWE SummerSlam

While WWE is currently focused on the fast-approaching WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles, CA, reports have already begun to emerge about potential SummerSlam bouts.

Becky Lynch has carved her name as one of the top stars in WWE, and she recently became a Women’s Triple Crown Champion when she won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Lita, defeating Damage CTRL’s Dakota Kai and IYO SKY. The champions are set to team up with a returning Trish Stratus to face all three members of Damage CTRL at WrestleMania.

According to a recent report, the current long-term plan for this story includes Trish Stratus eventually turning heel and facing Becky Lynch in singles action at SummerSlam in Detroit.
