New WWE Signing To Debut In Title Match On July 7th

WWE Superstar Pledges Return To Previous Persona

One of WWE‘s hottest new signings is looking for gold when she debuts on July 7th.

For months, rumors have swirled that STARDOM standout Giulia could be headed to WWE. The star competed in her final STARDOM match on March 31st, and after making a surprise appearance at Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Monday Magic show on April 1st, she confirmed that she was a free agent, saying:

“I’m Giulia, unemployed from today, I quit Stardom yesterday. I came here because I was called. The fact that I’m here means that the wrestling world will become more and more interesting, so please look forward to the future Giulia. Arrivederci, see you soon!”

Giulia made waves once again when she appeared at NXT Stand & Deliver during WrestleMania weekend, sitting in the front row next to William Regal.

The star raised questions about her future when it was announced that she’ll be involved with former STARDOM head Rossy Ogawa’s new Marigold promotion, but according to a new report from Fightful Select, she is still headed to NXT and is expected to compete in a “handful” of matches for Marigold before debuting in the sports entertainment giant.

Corey Brennan of Fightful reports that all signs point to the star debuting at NXT Heatwave on July 7th, where she’s expected to compete for a title. Brennan wrote:

“Fightful Select has learned that the belief within NXT is that Giulia will have her debut match at NXT Heatwave on July 7th, and is expected to be challenging for one of the NXT Women’s Titles at show.”

Brennan also reported on Fightful Select that the star is expected to retain her ring name but is likely to get new theme music.

Who is WWE’s new signing Giulia?

The Japanese star joined the popular Joshi promotion in 2019 after rising through the ranks at Ice Ribbon.

During her time at Ring World Stardom, she formed the dominant faction Donna Del Mondo. She won multiple championships including the World of STARDOM title and the winner of the Cinderella Tournament in 2020 and the 5Star Grand Prix in 2022.

At NJPW Independence Day on July 5th, 2023, she defeated AEW’s Willow Nightingale to become the second Strong Women’s Champion. After a 249 day reign, she was defeated by Stephanie Vaquer on March 10th.

Back in November, Dave Meltzer speculated about Giulia’s future if she were to sign with WWE.
