Fans attending the December 15th 2023 taping of SmackDown caught a sneak preview of the unique WWE show before the blue brand went live on air. The first 2 matches that took place under the time constraints were Axiom vs. Cedric Alexander and Nathan Frazier vs. Bronson Reed. It is unknown whether these two matches were used as a trial run or if they will air on the social media platform later in the year.
Fans at the taping also noted that the ring was branded with WWE Speed logos and a countdown clock was seen on the TitanTron. This is not the first time that the promotion has partnered up with a social media platform to broadcast a new show. Back in 2018, the company presented the Mixed Match Challenge, a mixed tag team tournament that aired on Facebook watch. The Miz and Asuka won the inaugural season, each winning $100,000 to donate to a charity of their choice.
WWE Presents A Memorable WrestleMania Press Conference
The Las Vegas press conference was one of the most historic in recent history. With the top stars present to build to WrestleMania 40, the show was headlined with Roman Reigns and The Rock sharing the stage. With Rock explaining how significant the match between himself and Reigns would be, the segment was interrupted by Cody Rhodes, who made his decision for WrestleMania.
