New WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship contender announced.
Last week on the 7th January episode of NXT New Year’s Evil, Oba Femi defeated Trick Williams and Eddy Thorpe to become the new champion, while Giulia kept Roxanne Perez down to win the Women’s championship.
After the two glorious title victories last week, the promotion is now on a hunt for Fallon Henley’s Women’s North American Championship contender. To decide a new challenger, Shotzi faced off against Stephanie Vaquer on the 14th January edition of NXT.
Thanks to interference by Jacy Jayne and Henley herself, Shotzi was able to keep Vaquer down with a roll-up and secure a shot at the title. Shotzi will now face Henley on the January 28th episode of NXT from the Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia.
Despite not being happy with how she won, Shotzi gracefully accepted her shot at the title match.
WWE NXT Commentator Booker T Reflects On His Match Against Zilla Fatu
After almost an absence of three years, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T recently returned to in-ring action at ROW Street Justice Rules Gauntlet facing his former mentee, Zilla Fatu on January 11th.
peaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, the veteran reflected on his match.
“Zilla Fatu stepped inside the ring with the real boss, Booker T. The owner, CEO, president of Reality of Wrestling. The thing is, it’s a thing called justice, and then there’s another thing. That thing is called street justice. The thing is, my mama told me a long time ago that if you big enough to pass a lick, you big enough to take one. That’s what this situation is. There’s a pecking order, and sometimes you gotta know your place. Sometimes, if you don’t know your place, what’s gonna happen?
You’re gonna get put in your place. That’s what’s gonna happen. The thing is, a lot of people came in. We had a sold-out house. Some people drove more than five hours to see Zilla Fatu take on Booker T, and I want to thank those guys. It was a sea, they were going crazy. It was a beautiful, beautiful night for Reality of Wrestling. But more importantly, sometimes, you got to learn, and you got to learn the hard way. That’s what I call that.
Do I love Zilla? I love Zilla. I love this kid. That was a learning experience for Zilla Fatu on Saturday night. He’s gonna take away from that and learn from that moment, and never, ever put himself in situation like that ever again. Trust me on that.”
