New Women's World Champion Crowned On WWE Raw

The WWE Women’s World Championship is no longer vacant.

On the April 22nd edition of Monday Night Raw, a battle royal took place in the main event to crown a new champion following the events that took place the previous week.

Following the early eliminations, an eliminated Piper Niven dragged Becky Lynch under the bottom rope. Slamming Lynch onto the announce table, Nia Jax would also exit the ring under the bottom rope and would slam Niven onto Lynch. During the commercial break, Jax continued to punish Lynch by delivering a powerbomb to The Man through the announce table.

As the match got down to Jax and Liv Morgan, Lynch dragged herself into the ring. Lynch and Morgan teamed up to eliminate Jax and were left as the final 2. With Lynch and Morgan both on the apron, Lynch delivered the Manhandle Slam onto Morgan onto the apron to win the match and become the new Women’s World Champion. Following the victory, Lynch celebrated in the crowd.

The victory marks the 7th reign for Lynch as Women’s Champion in addition to also reigning as NXT Women’s Champion in the autumn of 2023. Lynch had previously challenged Rhea Ripley for the title in the opening match of WrestleMania 40 but was defeated by The Eradicator.

New WWE Champion Crowned Due To Injury

The April 15th WWE Raw opened with sad news as Rhea Ripley announced that due to injury she was unable to compete and was left with no choice to but vacate the championship. The relinquishing of the title brought Ripley’s dominant 380-day reign as champion to an end, with an additional report stating that the former champion may be out for months.

In regards to Rhea Ripley, one WWE Hall of Famer believes she is destined to be an even bigger star.
