Jey Uso’s trade to WWE Raw has not gone unnoticed.
As reported by Fightful Select, there are plans in place to address who will be making the switch to SmackDown, with the announcement potentially coming as early as the October 14th episode.
While it is noted that there is always the possibility of plans changing, a big star is set to be transferred from Raw as it will be “someone at least on Uso’s level.”
The report ends by stating that because Uso is currently one-half of the Tag Team Champions, he is allowed to freely float between brands. The champs will also be in action on the show as Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso have issued an open challenge for the titles on social media.
SmackDown looks set to be a newsworthy episode if the trade does take place as it is also being reported that a big name is set to make their WWE debut on the show.
In a further update by Sean Ross Sapp, as of the day prior, the Superstar who is getting traded will be confirmed on the October 14th broadcast. It is also stated that despite initial rumours it will not be Cody Rhodes.
When Did Jey Uso Get Traded To WWE Raw?
Uso appeared to quit the company entirely on the August 11th episode following a loss to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam the weekend prior. Fast forward to Payback 2 weeks later and Rhodes was booked as a special guest on The Grayson Waller Effect. Wanting to keep the chat to a minimum, The American Nightmare got right to the point and declared that he used all the power he had to sign Uso to Raw.
The trade would prove to be beneficial for both parties as Rhodes and Uso would defeat Balor and Priest to capture the Tag Titles in the opening match of the Fastlane Premium Live Event.
