Has Kevin Owens undergone neck surgery? Or has he not?
On the April 4th episode of SmackDown, Kevin Owens ruled himself out of WrestleMania 41 due to neck injuries. Owens claimed he had to undergo neck surgery and will be gone from the roster for an extended period. Soon, several reports emerged about Kevin Owens undergoing successful neck surgery. However, a recent contradictory update has emerged.
Fightful Select has confirmed that the former Universal Champion’s surgery has not taken place yet. According to the reports, Owens is not expected to return in 2025, and might even miss WrestleMania 42 next year.
Scheduled to be in a match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 42, he is no longer fit to compete on the Mania card, leaving The Apex Predator without an opponent.
Popular AEW Star Is Optimistic Of Kevin Owens’ Surgery
Speaking on his My World podcast, AEW star Jeff Jarrett shared his optimism about Kevin Owens’ surgery.
“Kevin is one of those guys — he ain’t afraid to — he’s taken big, big, big bumps. I guess something happened in a recent match. Man, I hate that. If that’s the reality, look it’s never a good time, but what a disastrous time for all of this to go down. It feels like it was just yesterday and on the other hand, kind of like a lifetime ago where man, you have C3, C4, C5 surgery, you’re done. It is instant retirement, it’s over. But now, the advancements in the procedures and the technology and the healing and what they know and all of that.
Have they given a specific diagnosis? My understanding is no, because that’s what I would kind of lean into, like what actually is the surgery? I do know enough to know that neck surgeries can be minor or major, I think that’s the easy way to say it. Man, what a hell of a performer. He puts his heart into this business in so many ways and has for years. Missing a Mania is huge for those guys.”
