Former WWE Champion Big E has provided an encouraging update on his neck injury.
Big E expressed that his range of mobility has fully recovered and he feels “100 per cent” again. However, despite this positive news, he has not yet determined when he will make his return to the wrestling ring. In a recent interview with the Toronto Sun, his New Day stablemate Kofi Kingston shared similar sentiments.
Kingston expressed his happiness for Big E’s physical and mental well-being, considering the severity of the neck injury, which included fractures in his C1 and C6 vertebrae. Kingston mentioned that Big E did not require surgery and is nearly back to full health, able to carry out his daily activities and even lift weights.
I’m so happy that he’s doing so well, physically and mentally, because I can only imagine what an injury like that, as severe as the one that he suffered to his neck, he fractured his C1 and his C6 in a couple of places and to not have surgery, there was no misalignment, he really is almost back to 100%, feeling-wise. He’s able to live everyday life and he’s able to lift weights, which is a big part of his life, too,
Reflecting on the situation, Kingston acknowledged that things could have been much worse and expressed his gratitude that Big E can lead a happy and healthy life.
It could have been a lot worse. I’m just happy that he is able to live his life with a level of happiness and health.
During a WWE SummerSlam press conference in August, Big E disclosed that some doctors advised him against returning to wrestling, adding further uncertainty to his future in the squared circle.
Nevertheless, Kingston firmly believes that Big E has solidified his legacy in the sport as a versatile competitor. Kingston emphasised his stablemate’s ability to evoke fear with his physique and demeanour, while also entertaining and bringing smiles to fans’ faces.
He can go out there and make you afraid of him, obviously with his physique and demeanour, but then he can also go out there and make you laugh, put a smile on your face, entertain you,
When Was Big E Injured?
Big E was injured during an episode of SmackDown in March 2022 when he was involved in a tag match teaming with Kingston against Sheamus and Ridge Holland. While he and Holland were battling outside the ring Holland attempted a belly-to-belly suplex on him but he wasn’t able to fully rotate himself which led to his head to hit the ground causing fractures to his C1 and C6 vertebrae.
