New United States Champion Crowned At Money In The Bank

United States Champion

Monday Night Raw has a new United States Champion after Theory tastes defeat at Money In The Bank.

Bobby Lashley has defeated Theory to become a three-time United States Champion.

Since the turn of the year and arguably before, Theory has been on a roll. The former NXT star has been touted as the ‘next John Cena’ and has done nothing to dissuade those comparisons with his performances in the ring.

At the 24-year-old continued his rise up the WWE ranks he claimed the United States Title on April 18th, marking his first championship victory in WWE. However, that fine run is now over.

Former World Champion Bobby Lashley has been on a mission on his own of late, as he looks to work himself back into the main event picture. That mission led him to stand across the ring from Theory in Las Vegas.

The All-Mighty enjoyed the support of the capacity crowd from the outset, and immediately tried to overpower the champion. After responding with a flurry of his own, Theory slowed the pace with a chin lock, but Lashley fought back, seemingly demolishing the champion at will.

But Theory wasn’t going to give up the gold quite that easily, hitting back with a Spear before setting up for the A-Town Down. Despite the shift in momentum, Lashley wasn’t to be denied, counting into the Hurt Lock to score a huge win.

Bobby Lashley first won the United States Championship back in 2006, before winning it for a second time in the summer of 2020.
