New TNT Champion Crowned On AEW Dynamite

AEW TNT Championship

AEW has a new TNT Champion after the reign of Scorpio Sky was brought to an emphatic end on the July 6th edition of AEW Dynamite.

Wardlow is your brand new TNT Champion.

After defeating MJF at Double or Nothing, Wardlow set his sights on capturing championship gold. While Mr Mayhem showed little interest in the Interim World Championship, the star instead decided to stake his claim for the TNT Title.

After all, Wardlow was seemingly on course to win the title back in March before MJF intervened.

This set the powerhouse on a collision course with TNT Champion and Scorpio Sky and American Top Team. After much back and forth, a Street Fight between the champion and challenger was signed for Dynamite.

From the outset the two men tore into each other, Wardlow determined to use his superior power to earn the quick win. However, it didn’t take long for American Top team to make their greater numbers count, landing Scorpio Sky in control. But Wardlow was not to be denied.

The challenger fought back, hitting a huge senton from the top rope, before signalling for and then delivering the Powerbomb Symphony. Enjoying the moment, Mr Mayhem drove Sky to the mat time and time again, sealing the win with a foot across the chest.

The victory was greeted by a huge roar from the crowd, ticker tape falling from the ceiling as the new champion celebrated.

It was somewhat fitting that Wardlow was set on his way to title with a senton from the top rope. Speaking in a recent interview, the star revealed that he always wanted to be the “next Jeff Hardy.”
