Lesnar has been absent from the company since dropping the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36 last year, making this his longest period away from the company since his return in 2012.

But sources inside the WWE have indicated to Fightful that there have been recent talks around the multiple time World Champion’s return, with some suggestion that the company would reinstate Lesnar on-screen immediately if circumstances allowed.
Though no estimates were given on timescales, it’s no secret that WWE are planning for Summerslam to be a major event, with the company returning to Las Vegas to host their annual spectacular.
Earlier this week, Stephanie McMahon promised plenty of surprises for the event, and the return of ‘The Beast’ would certainly live up to that statement.
There are plenty of mouth-watering clashes for Lesnar to return to, be it a rematch with McIntyre, a clash with fellow MMA alumni Lashley or a collision with his advocate Paul Heyman’s latest charge, Roman Reigns.
Inside the Ropes will keep you posted on this exciting story as it develops.
