The AEW Women’s World Champion has walked out of Revolution with a brand new championship belt.
At AEW Revolution, Thunder Rosa met long-reigning champion Britt Baker for the AEW Women’s World Championship. It had been a long journey back to the number one contender-ship for Rosa who had become the division’s nearly-woman in recent months.
Thunder Rosa came to the ring first, in a spectacular ring walk outfit paying homage to her Mexican heritage. Not to be outdone. Britt Baker made her own entrance complete with a new championship belt.
The new championship gold turned out to be a good omen for Baker, who retained her title once again. However, she did so with more than a little helping hand from Rebel and Jamie Hayter. Rosa appeared to be closing in on victory on numerous occasions before having to fight off outside interference, but even then she almost claimed the title.
The end of the match came after Rosa had delivered a Spear to Rebel taking from the ring apron to the floor. But, by the time Rosa got back in the ring, Baker hit the Curb Stomp to grab the win.

On March 17th 2021, Britt Baker and Thunder Rosa went to war on a special St Patrick’s Day Slam edition of AEW Dynamite. However, the bout wasn’t just any match, it was an Unsanctioned Lights Out Match, and the first women’s match to headline AEW’s flagship show.
The bloody affair received near universal acclaim across the board, from fans and fellow wrestlers alike.
Despite being defeated by Thunder Rosa, Baker went on to Double or Nothing in May, winning the AEW Women’s World Championship that she still holds.
In the months that have followed, Rosa has clawed her way back to the top of the rankings, finally earning her rematch against the champion.
