AEW

Potential Reason Why AEW All In Isn't At Wembley In 2025

AEW All In London logo

A potential reason why AEW All In will not emanate from Wembley Stadium in 2025 appears to come to light.

For the first time since the annual event’s return in 2023, AEW All In will not take place at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Instead, the major pay-per-view event will be hosted at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas in 2025 before returning to the UK in 2026.

Now, a potential reason for All In’s surprising move outside of its long-time British home seems to have appeared. Today, Coldplay announced their upcoming world tour named Music of the Spheres which includes six dates at Wembley Stadium: August 22nd, 23rd, 26th, 27th, 30th and 31st.

The band’s tour dates conincide with the UK’s August Bank Holiday which is when AEW typically aims to host All In. It therefore appears as if Coldplay snapped up next year’s dates ahead of AEW, leaving the promotion to move the event to Texas next year.

WWE

Surprising Former Manager Signs WWE Legends Deal

A surprising former WWE manager has announced that they’re the latest figure to sign a Legends deal with the company!

In a post to his X account earlier today, ex-WWE star Armando Estrada announced that he has signed a five-year Legends contract with WWE. The deal will lead to future WWE appearances and new merchandise featuring his likeness, including appearances in upcoming WWE video games!

Estrada is best known for his main roster run as Umaga’s manager for much of 2006 and early 2007. He went on to have a short run as the General Manager of ECW before becoming an in-ring talent for the brand, most notably being involved in a feud with then-independent wrestler Colin Delaney.

Estrada is the latest of various figures that WWE has signed to Legends deals as of late. Others to announce the move include Victoria and WWE Hall of Famer Jacqueline.

Shotzi

Shotzi Seemingly Set For Another Name Change

Shotzi making her entrance at WWE Survivor Series 2023

It appears Shotzi may be due for yet another name change!

Yesterday, WWE filed for several new trademarks including an interesting reapplication for the name ‘Shotzi Blackheart’. The company previously held the trademark for several years, initially filing for it in 2021 but abandoned it earlier this year.

The reapplication suggests that the company could be planning to revert the main roster star’s ring name back to Shotzi Blackheart, her initial WWE moniker that she used throughout her time in NXT. Upon her SmackDown debut in July 2021, her name was shortened to simply ‘Shotzi’.

Shotzi hasn’t appeared on WWE programming since the February 20th edition of NXT earlier this year where she suffered a knee injury during a match with Lyra Valkyria. She later announced that she was expecting to be out of action for nine months, placing her earliest return to the company in mid-November.

AEW

New AEW TV Deal Could Be Set For Imminent Announcement

AEW‘s next media rights deal could be announced imminently according to a new report!

In the latest edition of The Varsity newsletter, John Ourand reports that a formal announcement of a new TV deal between AEW and Warner Brothers Discovery could come as soon as next week, with the two sides close to finalising the deal as things stand.

Ourand notes that barring any last-minute changes, the deal will be for three guaranteed years with a fourth as an option year and looks to be valued at around $170 million annually.

In addition to their current broadcasting on TNT and TBS, the new deal will reportedly see AEW shows air on TruTV as well. However, the promotion will only air across the three networks twice a week, leaving the future of one of AEW’s three weekly TV shows uncertain.

Outside of their partnership with Warner Brothers Discovery, AEW is also said to be pitching another package to other broadcast channels following recent reports that the promotion is in negotiations with FOX – the former home of WWE SmackDown.
