WWE have shared a never previously televised match between Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin on their YouTube channel.
At WWE television tapings for both Raw and SmackDown it’s common for ‘dark matches’ to be held either before or after the televised part of the show. These can feature up and coming stars who haven’t made it to the main roster yet, or big names who didn’t wrestle a match on television. One such match featured Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin back in February 2020 just before the COVID-19 pandemic brought a halt to WWE’s touring schedule.
WWE Share Previously Untelevised Roman Reigns Match
WWE have now shared footage of the match on their YouTube channel after passing 92 million subscribers. The link to the match on YouTube was shared on social media with a thank you message for the WWE Universe. The YouTube video also features comments from Kayla Braxton & Matt Camp and Baron Corbin and his manager, WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield.
“As a thank you to the WWE Universe for helping WWE on @YouTube reach 92.5 million subscribers, we’re showing you a match that has never been televised!”
The footage is only from the ‘hard cam’ and sees ‘King’ Corbin defeated with a Spear. The match also took place around six months before Roman Reigns embarked on his current run as the Tribal Chief, with his look and in-ring style being that little bit different.
Roman Reigns is due to be back in action for the first time since Survivor Series on the December 30th edition of SmackDown. On the show Reigns will team with Sami Zayn to take on Kevin Owens and a returning John Cena. Reigns had been out of action in recent weeks following a ruptured eardrum sustained inside WarGames following a slap from Owens.
