A new WWE documentary titled “Never Forget: WWE Returns After 9/11” is coming to Peacock and the WWE Network.

The documentary will premiere on Friday, September 10th, and will be available on Peacock/WWE Network, WWE’s YouTube channel, and WWE’s Facebook page.

The show will focus on the post-9/11 episode of SmackDown at the Compaq Center in Houston, Texas on September 13, 2001. The show marked the first public gathering to take place following the terrorist attacks just two days earlier.

The episode had been due to be taped on September 11th, but was broadcast live two days later as a tribute to those impacted by the attacks.

WWE confirmed that the likes of Steve Austin and Kurt Angle will appear in the documentary.

“Hear from Superstars like “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Edge and many more as they remember being involved in one of the most emotional and patriotic SmackDown episodes in WWE history just two days after the attacks.”

Meanwhile, WWE will be in New York at their spiritual home of Madison Square Garden for SmackDown on September 10th.

The blockbuster episode of SmackDown at the ‘World’s Most Famous Arena’ will also feature the return of Brock Lesnar. Although The Beast came back to WWE at SummerSlam he has remained absent from SmackDown. However, that all changes on September 10th.

On the most recent episode of the show, a flustered Paul Heyman approached his latest charge Roman Reigns after taking a phone call from Lesnar. Heyman said that they had a problem as Lesnar was heading to SmackDown the following week. A nonplussed Reigns corrected his Special Counsel saying that it was only Heyman who had the problem.

The show will also feature a huge SummerSlam rematch when Edge takes on Seth Rollins aiming to finally put their feud to bed. Meanwhile, SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair will hold a contract signing for their clash at Extreme Rules.

John Cena is also advertised as being at the event, although it is unclear whether he will appear on TV. Cena hasn’t been seen since being defeated by Reigns at SummerSlam. Reports have suggested that Sasha Banks may also make her return to WWE on the show.
