Netflix Reveals Impressive Viewership For WWE Raw Debut

Netflix has provided more information regarding how successful the debut episode of WWE Raw was on the platform.

Looking to kick off the Netflix era with a bang, both companies heavily promoted the January 6th edition of Raw, which saw appearances from some of the biggest stars of the past and present including The Rock, John Cena, Roman Reigns and CM Punk all factor into the broadcast.

When all was said and done, there was intrigue as to how successful the show was from a viewership standpoint and if there was a substantial difference compared to when the show ran on network TV.

On January 9th, TKO put out a press release touting the success of the debut episode of WWE Raw with a reported 4.9 million people streaming the show. Following the TKO report, Netflix has since released its global top 10 from the past week and the numbers are once again looking impressive for Raw.

According to the streaming platform, the January 6th edition of Raw was the 4th most viewed English language show worldwide that week with 5.9 million views and 17,700,000 hours viewed. The views are defined by the platform as “total view hours for the program divided by the runtime.” The shows that beat Raw in the past week were Missing You [15,200,000 views], American Primeval [10,400,000 views], and Jerry Springer: Fights, Camera, Action [7,700,000 views]. Raw also ranked in the top 10 in 26 countries.

With the January 13th Raw being presented as a standard show as opposed to the star-studded premiere, the ratings for episode 2 will give a clearer indication of how popular the show is. It should be noted that Raw is once again the number one show on Netflix in the UK and the United States.

Major Debut On WWE Raw

Although the January 13th edition of Raw did not have multiple appearances from legends, the show was still newsworthy when all was said and done. Along with the first-ever Women’s Intercontinental Champion being crowned, former AEW star Penta made his WWE debut.
