NBC Renews ‘Young Rock’ For Second Season

NBC have renewed hit comedy ‘Young Rock’ for a second season.

The show which chronicles the early years of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson growing up around the wrestling business has been a huge success since debuting in February.

The comedy sees Johnson star alongside Joseph Lee Anderson, Stacey Leilua, Adrian Groulx, Bradley Constant, Uli Latukefu, Ana Tuisila, Fasitua Amosa and John Tui.

NBC said that the show ranks as the number two comedy of the season in the 18-49 year-old demographic. The pilot episode of the show has been seen by 13.4 million people.

‘Young Rock’ has been renewed alongside ‘Kenan, Lisa Katz, president of scripted programming at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, said of the news:

“It has been a true joy to watch Dwayne Johnson and Kenan Thompson on NBC every week and see families connect with their relatable, entertaining and heartwarming stories,”

“We’re thrilled to renew both of these shows for another season and can’t wait to see more from Dwayne, Kenan and the incredibly talented casts and producing teams behind each of them.”
