As Roman Reigns looks out across a WWE landscape that he has dominated for more then 700 days, a new challenge could be coming from an unlikely source.
At SummerSlam Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar in one of the wildest Last Man Standing matches in history.
There was interference galore, Theory tried (and failed) to cash in his Money In The Bank briefcase, and Paul Heyman was flattened by an F-5 through the announce table. There was also the small matter of Brock Lesnar attempting to tip the ring over with a tractor.
However, through a haze of belt-shots, tables and heavy duty farm machinery, it was the Tribal Chief who stood tall at the end of the night. So to quote a certain former dominant World Champion, “Who’s next?”
Although he might not be quite next in line for a meeting with Reigns, former NBA Champion Dwight Howard has set his sights on the champion.
Howard recently attended the WWE try-outs over SummerSlam weekend, shocking all involved by cutting an impressive promo in the process. The eight-time NBA All-Star also expressed a desire to join WWE when his basketball career is over.
During an appearance on WWE’s The Bump, Howard said that after defeating Reigns on WWE 2K22, he was ready to take down the Head of the Table.
“And now I’m the heavyweight Champion of the world, so Roman Reigns I’m coming for you next.”
Following his victory at SummerSlam, Reigns has now been World Champion for over 700 days. It has already been confirmed that his next challenger will be Drew McIntyre at Clast at the Castle on September 3rd.
