Multi-time NBA All-Star Dwight Howard has his sights set on professional wrestling and delighted those in attendance with his promo at a WWE tryout!
Dwight Howard is no stranger to championship wins, having been an 8-time NBA All-Star and also becoming an NBA Champion in 2020. However, the star now has his sights set on professional wrestling, and even made a surprise appearance at the recent WWE tryout in Nashville.
Not only did Howard attend the tryout, he also got up in front of those in attendance and cut a charismatic promo. According to sports reporter Arash Markazi, the NBA star is legitimately interested in joining the WWE someday. Furthermore, not only did he cut a promo in front of everyone on the stage, he also stayed for hours and cut promos among the other tryout attendees throughout the day. Videos of his promos can be seen below.

Markazi also posted a video of Dwight Howard meeting with Triple H, who was recently named both Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and head of WWE creative in the wake of Vince McMahon’s retirement. Markazi also notes that the NBA star spent five hours at the tryout and was asking advice on proper pro wrestling technique.
“Dwight Howard spent about five hours at the WWE Tryout in Nashville today. He told me he’s going to be ringside at SummerSlam on Saturday. He said he’s serious about joining the WWE. He was asking coaches and attendees how to properly take a bump in the ring and do other moves.”
