On the November 20 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, the women’s and men’s Team SmackDown Survivor Series squads were completed with the additions of Natalya, Bayley and Otis respectively.
In a backstage segment with Adam Pearce, the authority elect annoyed the Hart family member when he announced that Bayley take a spot on the team. Seconds later, the former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion declared herself captain.
Irked that Bayley had snagged a place without earning it and she hadn’t, Natalya was given yet another chance to qualify for November 22 in a about with Tamina.
With Bianca Belair and Bayley serving on commentary, ‘The Queen of Harts’ made quick work of her opposite number and surpassed her with the Sharpshooter to qualify in little over two minutes to join Bayley, Bianca Belair, Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan.
Following the bout, Team SmackDown celebrated in the ring with Natalya where Bayley continued to gloat and brag over self-imposed captaincy.
It took them until forty eight hours prior to Survivor Series to finally complete their team, but now the blue brand finally have their women’s bloc to take on the might of Team Raw who consist of WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler, Peyton Royce, Lacey Evans and Lana.
It’s refreshing to see Bayley involved in something that isn’t Sasha Banks and the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship picture, even if it’s just for one week.
Also announced by Adam Pierce in the same segment where Bayley was crowned the newest member of Team SmackDown, was Otis as the final member of the blue brand’s men team which now officially consists of Kevin Owens, Jey Uso, Otis, Seth Rollins and King Corbin.
