Naomi’s WWE Contract Expiring Soon

Sasha Banks and Naomi celebrate at WrestleMania 38

In another wrinkle to an already ever-evolving story, it has been reported that Naomi’s WWE contract is due to expire soon.

Following Sasha Banks and Naomi leaving the May 16th edition of Monday Night Raw while the show was in progress, speculation has run wild about their futures with WWE.

While Naomi’s former tag team partner has suggested that the star is unhappy with role with the company, Banks has clashed with WWE management in the past, even asking for her release.

To add even more confusion to the situation, it has now been reported that Naomi’s WWE contract is set to expire soon. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the star was in negotiations with WWE at the time of the walkout.

“So, the deal is — and this was brought up to me as well — her contract, I guess it’s expiring soon, but she was in negotiations for a new deal,”

It is unclear as to what impact the incident will have on the negotiations.

On May 16th, Naomi and Sasha Banks were scheduled to appear as part of a six-pack challenge in the main event of Monday Night Raw. The match was designed to confirm a new number one contender for Bianca Belair’s Raw Women’s Title.

However, the pair were reportedly unhappy with creative and left during the show. While the show was in progress, WWE released a statement claiming that the pair weren’t comfortable in the ring with two of their opponents, and felt their Women’s Tag Team Titles were being disrespected. Meanwhile, Corey Graves slammed the pair as “unprofessional” on commentary.

In the aftermath of the incident, Wade Keller and Bryan Alvarez both reported that the Women’s Tag Team Champions had little support backstage, with the prevailing mood being more confusion than anything else.
