The fall-out between WWE and Sasha Banks and Naomi continues as the company remove the pair from their opening video package.

On the May 20th episode of Friday Night SmackDown, WWE addressed Sasha Banks’ and Naomi’s recent walkout from a episode of Monday Night Raw.

On the show, Michael Cole cut a piece to camera where he said that the two women had “let us all down.” He reiterated that Banks and Naomi had handed their Women’s Tag Team Titles to Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis before leaving the arena on May 16th.

It was also announced that there will be a tournament to crown new Women’s Tag Team Champions.

After the show it was noted that Sasha Banks and Naomi-related merchandise had also been removed from WWE’s online store. Searching for either now directs you to a ‘Parts Unknown’ page.

Furthermore, eagle-eyed fans have also noticed that the two women no longer appear in WWE’s signature “Then. Now. Forever” opening graphic. Cody Rhodes now appears where Banks was once featured and her partner has been replaced by Ronda Rousey.

Meanwhile, Naomi has removed “WWE Superstar NAOMI #FEELTHEGLOW” from her Twitter bio, although her handle is still @NaomiWWE.

Sasha Banks and Naomi had been due to compete in a six-pack challenge in the main event of the May 16th episode of Raw to determine a new number one contender for the Raw Women’s Championship. However, after reportedly being dissatisfied with creative, the pair left the arena.

While the show was in progress, WWE released a statement claiming that the pair weren’t comfortable in the ring with two of their opponents, and felt their Women’s Tag Team Titles were being disrespected. Meanwhile, Corey Graves slammed the pair as “unprofessional” on commentary.

In the aftermath of the incident, Wade Keller and Bryan Alvarez both reported that the Women’s Tag Team Champions had little support backstage, with the prevailing mood being confusion.

In spite of the controversy, the pair remain WWE Superstars.
