After another heated confrontation with Sonya Deville on SmackDown, Naomi has received a fine for insubordination.
The former SmackDown Women’s Champion arrived back on the blue brand on August 27th and immediately clashed with Deville. Naomi said that she was excited to be back and was looking forward to her first match.
However, the WWE authority figure seemed preoccupied with her phone before saying that she didn’t know anything about Naomi joining SmackDown. She openly questioned whether Naomi could measure up on the blue brand wondering whether Adam Pearce had done the deal behind her back.
Fast-forward to the September 17th edition of SmackDown and Naomi still hasn’t made it to the ring. The former Women’s Champion demanded to be given a match, saying that she had achieved more than Deville ever had.
It was announced by Michael Cole later in the show that Naomi had been fined for the outburst.
Appearing on Talking Smack, Deville addressed the issue and why she had handed out the fine.
“I have to address the elephant in the room because it’s really getting under my skin. The way that Naomi talked to me tonight, the way that she treated me tonight is absolutely unacceptable behaviour for everybody in the locker room across the board; male, female, SmackDown, or Raw, or NXT for that matter. Nobody is to talk to a WWE official in that manner. She is lucky that she got a fine, I don’t know what she thinks stepping to me and getting aggressive in my face is going to do. I’m a WWE Official and I’m not going to lay my hands on WWE talent. Let’s just make that crystal clear.”
Elsewhere on the show, new WWE Champion Big E returned to SmackDown confronting Roman Reigns. This led to Big E teaming with Finn Balor to defeat The Usos in tag team action.
Later in the episode, Big E bumped into Paul Heyman backstage and after some verbal sparring the WWE Champion was beaten down by The Usos as Roman Reigns watched on.
It was later announced that The New Day including Big E, will meet The Bloodline in a huge tag team match on RAW.
While in the main event, Bianca Belair was given the key to Knoxville County by a returning Kane. However, the night didn’t exactly go to plan as the show closed with Becky Lynch leaving Belair laying.
