Naomi Drops Big Hint Regarding WWE Future

Sasha Banks Naomi WWE

Naomi hasn’t stepped into a WWE ring since appearing at a live event on May 15th, 2022. On that occasion, she teamed with Sasha Banks, now Mercedes Mone, to defeat Natalya and Shayna Baszler.

Just 24 hours later, Naomi and Banks walked out of the Monday Night Raw taping while it was in progress and haven’t wrestled for the company since.

While Sasha Banks has reinvented herself as Mercedes Mone, debuting with New Japan Pro-Wrestling in January, her tag team partner’s future appears much less certain. For a number of months, both women were linked to a WWE return but the big comeback never happened.

With Mercedes Mone beginning a new chapter outside of WWE, many fans believed that if Naomi was returning it would have been at the Royal Rumble. However, the event came and went without an appearance.

Has Naomi Left WWE?

Far from returning, it now appears that the star may be leaving, or has already left WWE altogether. Naomi recently changed her Instagram bio so that it reads “Just Trinity” under her name. This is obviously a reference to her real name Trinity Fatu. Her profile contains no link to WWE, the only reference being that the company name appears in her Twitter handle.

It had recently been reported that there had been contact between the star and WWE, with one “higher up” noting that the company was “confident” she would return. Her last televised appearance came on the May 13th episode of SmackDown where alongside Sasha Banks, the pair defended their Women’s Tag Team Titles against Natala and Shayna Baszler.

While it remains unclear whether the former SmackDown Women’s Champion will return to the ring, her former tag team partner Mercedes Mone will be back in action on February 18th. After confronting IWGP Women’s Champion KAIRI at Wrestle Kingdom 17, a match between the pair was set for Battle In The Valley in San Jose. It has been reported that this will be followed by two further appearances in Japan.
