Naomi has clapped back at a fan on social after they compared her to a current NXT star.
In September 2021 NXT relaunched as NXT 2.0 and in the process overhauled much of their talent roster. Gone were many of the established names that fans had grown familiar with, and in their place came new names such as Bron Breakker, Tony D’Angelo, Grayson Waller and many more.
One star who got their break with the revamped developmental brand was Lash Legend. The former basketball player had signed with WWE a year earlier, but arrived on television on September 21st.
Another performer who underwent a major character shift during this period was Karen Yu who had been wrestling as Mei Ying, before being repackaged as Wendy Choo.
After it was announced that Wendy Choo and Lash Legend are set to meet on the upcoming episode of NXT, one fan took to social media to criticise the characters. In the post they described Choo as a “Adult Child,” before calling her rival an “off-brand Naomi.”
The comments drew the attention of the currently absent former SmackDown Women’s Champion who hit back at the fan, and the racial undertones in the comparison.
“Absolutely NOT! Lash is in her own lane. I’m very proud of her and I look forward to her growth and success. Please stop comparing us black women for the wrong reasons. Respectfully.”

Naomi hasn’t been seen in WWE since walking out of an episode of Monday Night Raw alongside Sasha Banks in May. While there has been no official comment on their status, Banks recently dropped a major hint that she could be done with the company, changing her Twitter handle to her real name, removing “@SashaBanksWWE.”
