Naomi hasn’t wrestled since teaming with Sasha Banks at a WWE live event in Roanoke, Virginia on May 15th, 2021.
On that occasion the pair saw off Natalya and Shayna Baszler, but all was not well. 24-hours later the pair walked out of a Monday Night Raw taping following what was reported to be a row over creative. The Women’s Tag Team Champions were promptly stripped of their titles and suspended.
While reports of a return were initially mixed at best, Vince McMahon’s retirement and the rise to creative power of Triple H appeared to change the landscape. Despite this fresh optimism from fans and reports of a deal being struck, neither woman returned to the company. However, as Sasha Banks begins her new adventure with New Japan Pro Wrestling and beyond as Mercedes Mone, it appears that Naomi is heading back to WWE.
Naomi Set For WWE Return
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez explained that it’s his belief that the former SmackDown Women’s Champion will return to WWE. Although at time of writing there is no news on when she will be back.
“My belief is she will be returning to WWE, because she will almost certainly be returning to WWE.”
Naomi is currently in Japan supporting Mercedes Mone as she seemingly begins her career outside of WWE. It has also been reported that Bayley is in attendance at Wrestle Kingdom 17. At the showpiece event, Mone made her debut attacking IWGP Women’s Champion KAIRI and challenging her to a match Battle In The Valley on February 18th in San Jose.
A recent report has also claimed that talent in AEW are expecting the former WWE star to join the company. It has been rumoured that Mone will be Saraya’s mystery partner when she takes on Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter on the January 11th edition of Dynamite.
