Nakamura Compares Cesaro With Tanahashi Says “He can do everything.”

Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura

The career of former WWE United States Champion Cesaro has been on a major upward curve of late. The Swiss Superman lasted over half an hour in the Elimination Chamber match at the pay-per-view of the same name, while also setting his sights on a clash with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania.

However, none of this recent success has come as a surprise to Cesaro’s former tag team partner Shinsuke Nakamura.

The King Of Strong Style and Cesaro teamed as The Artist Collective regularly throughout 2019 and 2020 winning the SmackDown Tag Team Championship in the process.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Nakamura was full of praise for his former partner saying that he can “do everything.”

“You see his fighting spirit when he’s in the ring,” Nakamura says. “I have a lot of respect for Cesaro. He has power, speed, experience, he knows how to focus on his opponent. He can do everything.”

The pair’s win at Extreme Rules in 2020 would mark Nakamura’s first tag team success since winning the IWGP Tag Team Championship alongside New Japan legend Hiroshi Tanahashi.

Nakamura went on to add that Tanahashi and Cesaro were very different partners, commenting that he had “perfect timing” with his most recent ally.

“Tanahashi and Cesaro, they are much different partners,” Nakamura says. “Cesaro, the way he fought and the way I fought, we had perfect timing. Some people say Cesaro is underrated, but I believe in his ability. He uses real emotion. That’s why he is so believable.”

Sheamus was also interviewed about his relationship with Cesaro, and once again he had nothing but good things to say about his rival turned friend. The Celtic Warrior called his former partner in The Bar “the most underrated guy, ever, in WWE,” before adding “If it wasn’t for him, I don’t know if I’d still be in WWE.”
