WWE Superstar Asuka is one of the top female wrestlers in professional wrestling currently.
She may not be the flashiest, but The Empress of Tomorrow has been part of some of the most significant moments in WWE, and continues to work at a very high level at 43. She returned to the ring after being on the shelf for a whole year, owing to a knee injury that required surgery and extensive rehabilitation.
Now that she is back on RAW, there are several paths WWE creative can take with the Japanese star. Interestingly, it turns out that there is a former AEW star out there hoping to throw it down with the veteran: Abadon.
Abadon Wants Steel Cage Match Against WWE’s Asuka
During the recent K&S WrestleFest, Abadon was asked about their dream match and the reasons for the same. The athlete was signed with AEW between March 2020 and June 2025.
Their contract was not renewed afterwards, ending their five-year tenure in the Tony Khan-led promotion. Now that she is no longer with AEW, it opens the door for her dream match against Asuka, possibly inside a steel cage:
My dream match and why? Well, f**k, that’s kind of hard. I mean, I really wanna wrestle Asuka at some point in my life. That’d be pretty cool. I’ve never had a cage match so I really wanna have that at some point in my career. But Asuka is definitely up there. That would be pretty rad [to work a cage match against Asuka].”
Meanwhile, on RAW, as seen in the clip above, Asuka reunited with Kairi Sane. The two have been booked for Evolution II this Sunday, where they will reignite their Kabuki Warriors tag team to challenge for the Women’s Tag Team Championship in a Fatal 4-Way Match.
The Empress of Tomorrow and The Pirate Princess held the titles before the former’s knee injury rendered it impossible for them to continue. Asuka’s last match before her hiatus was at Backlash: France last year, where The Kabuki Warriors lost the titles to Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill.
