MVP Turns On Bobby Lashley, Forms New Alliance

MVP & Bobby Lashley

The partnership between Bobby Lashley and MVP is no more, after the former leader of the Hurt Business formed a new alliance.

Bobby Lashley and MVP joined forces back in May 2020, with the former taking MVP’s place in a match at Money In The Bank. The next night on Raw, the partnership was made official.

Over the next 18 months, under the tutelage of MVP, Lashley won the United States Championship before winning the WWE Championship on two occasions. During this run, the pair also aligned with Cedric Alexander and Shelton Alexander, under the name the Hurt Business.

The faction would go on to become one of the most dominant groups in recent WWE history.

Fast forward to Elimination Chamber 2022, and Bobby Lashley lost his WWE Championship without even being involved in the match. Inside Elimination Chamber, Lashley got a storyline concussion before he even entered the match, allowing Brock Lesnar to claim the win and the title. In reality, Lashey was suffering with a shoulder injury.

However, just days ahead of WrestleMania 38, Lashley returned to Raw to challenge Omos. At the spectacular the former WWE Champion defeated the colossus.

On the April 1st episode of Raw, Lashley came to the ring to celebrate with MVP. Lashley hailed Omos as the strongest man he ever faced, before the giant came to the ring demanding a rematch. The two men stared each other down, before MVP shockingly attacked Lashley, before Omos joined in.

MVP then ordered Omos to destroy his former friend and leave him laying.

Elsewhere on the show, Cody Rhodes made his own return to Monday Night Raw declaring his intention to win the WWE Championship in honour of his father the American Dream Dusty Rhodes.

The episode also saw the shock re-emergence of Elias. The former NXT Superstar interrupted Kevin Owens, coming to the ring with a completely new look, claiming to now be called Ezekiel, Elias’ younger brother.

Meanwhile, Veer Mahaan finally made his debut on the red brand attacking Rey and Dominik Mysterio. Breakker also regained the NXT Championship, defeating Dolph Ziggler.
