MVP has given the wrestling world a lot to talk about with his latest appearance.
The former United States Champion hit the headlines on July 22nd when it was reported that he would also be exiting WWE imminently after news initially broke that Bobby Lashley had elected to not sign a new deal. With MVP also posting an update stating that he was not done in-ring just yet, he wasted little time in finding a very tough opponent.
On July 28th, Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XI took place in Brooklyn, New York and saw The Warmaster himself victorious against Bad Dude Tito. Following the contest, MVP made his way onto the canvas and stood face-to-face with Barnett. Grabbing a microphone, the former Tag Team Champion told Barnett that 11 years after they started training together he had got his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Addressing his contract “with a company I won’t mention right now that is about to expire” and that he is “not going back”, the soon-to-be free agent issued a massive challenge to Barnett to face him at a future Bloodsport event, which Barnett accepted for anytime and any place while teasing that his future opponent could bring anyone he wants as back-up.
What is @The305MVP doing at #JBBSXI? 😱

MVP Looks Back On 2020 Return
Returning as a surprise entrant in the 2020 Royal Rumble before being quickly eliminated by Brock Lesnar, MVP would continue to be a part of the company for 4 more years as a manager and as an active performer, most notably as a part of The Hurt Business faction that saw Bobby Lashley become World Championship. As free agency draws nearer, MVP reflected on his second in-ring run in the promotion.
