MVP Explains Reason For The Hurt Syndicate’s AEW Arrival

MVP has given more of an insight into The Hurt Syndicate’s decision to become a part of the AEW roster.

Back at AEW Grand Slam, MVP made his shock arrival in the promotion when he interrupted Prince Nana’s update on Swerve Strickland, who had been absent since his loss to Adam Page at All Out.

Following the debut, many felt that it was only a matter of time before Lashley, who had left WWE just a couple of weeks before, would join his former manager. With the arrival of Shelton Benjamin also taking place shortly after, fans knew that Bobby Lashley’s debut would be inevitable.

With the trio reunited as The Hurt Syndicate and already being a dominant presence on Dynamite, fans who wanted the reunion have finally got their wish granted. While speaking with Renee Paquette on AEW Close Up, MVP first addressed why now was the right time to run back the faction:

“Why now? Quite frankly because we had an idea that was initially conceived by Bobby, and we were able to put it together. We executed it flawlessly and it was very organically popular. Unfortunately, it was ended long before anyone was ready for it to end. We felt that we wanted to give our story the proper ending that it deserved. Tony Khan was kind enough to allow us to bring our conglomerate here and continue doing what we do better than virtually anyone else.”

“The Fans Wanted Us Back”: Bobby Lashley Talks MVP And Shelton Benjamin Reunion

Bobby Lashley then provided further comment, adding that every time he tried to do anything else in wrestling all fans wanted to see was a Hurt Business reunion and they had to give the people what they wanted:

“In the wrestling business, you always give the fans what they want. The fans wanted us back. Even to this day, any time I posted something, at least one comment would say Hurt Business, Hurt Business, Hurt Business. They always wanted to see us get back together because it was something that was real. We hang out together, we work out together, we got to do it again, and this is the perfect opportunity to do it again.”
