Mustafa Ali and Riddle are on a collision course for Fastlane where the two men will meet one-on-one for the WWE United States Championship.
Ali issued a challenge on social media to champion Riddle after the RETRIBUTION leader lost to the ‘Original Bro’ on Raw in a title match. That match came two weeks after a match on Raw that saw Ali defeat Riddle.
WWE has now confirmed that the match will happen at the Fastlane pay-per-view on Sunday, March 21st.
Stacked Fastlane card sees four titles on the line
Mustafa Ali has not held any championship gold during his tenure in WWE so far. Riddle won the WWE United States Championship from Bobby Lashley in a triple threat match at the Elimination Chamber event. Later that evening Lashley attacked WWE Champion Drew McIntyre after McIntyre’s title defence. That allowed The Miz to cash in his ‘Money In The Bank’ and win the title. Lashley has since become WWE Champion after decimating The Miz in short order on Raw.
Fastlane will also see WWE Intercontinental Champion Big E defend against Apollo Crews. The WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles will be on the line as Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler defend against Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair. Drew McIntyre faces former friend Sheamus in a ‘no holds barred’ match.
Shinsuke Nakamura squares off with the messianic Seth Rollins. Randy Orton has answered a bizarre challenge from Alexa Bliss that will see those two come face to face. The WWE Universal Championship will be defended by ‘The Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns. Reigns will take on Daniel Bryan for the championship.
Edge, who is set to face the winner of the Universal Title match at WrestleMania will be the special enforcer for Reigns’ and Bryan’s encounter. The WWE Hall Of Famer earned that position by defeating Jey Uso on SmackDown. That match was Edge’s first on the blue brand in a decade.
