Mustafa Ali has taken to social media to declare that he should be the number one contender for Matt Riddle’s United States Championship.

The leader of RETRIBUTION scored a victory over Riddle on the March 1st episode of Monday Night Raw and he believes that should put him first in line for a title match.

Posting on Twitter, Mustafa Ali wrote “PSA: I pinned the United States Champion and have yet to be named the number one contender.”

Ali has become somewhat well known for using Twitter and social media to his advantage, interacting with fans on the platform to make a point or simply answer fan questions.

The former star of 205 Live recently revealed that he was dealing with a torn PCL in his knee, although the injury has done little to slow down the high flyer or cause him to miss any television time.

Meanwhile, since winning his first main roster championship at Elimination Chamber, Matt Riddle has spoken about the possibility of bring back the US title open challenge.

The Original Bro commented that he would love to bring back something similar to the open challenge made popular by John Cena adding:

“It’s not to elevate this title; the title has already been elevated. Bobby Lashley had it [and] John Cena had it. It’s already a stacked title. This title is going to elevate me on matches that I need to be in so people can see me in a different light.”

The former UFC star won the US Title in a Triple Threat match defeating Bobby Lashley and John Morrison at Elimination Chamber, but is yet to make a defence of his newly won prize.
