According to a new report, Mustafa Ali is potentially returning to WWE TV following a six-month absence during which he asked for his release.
A new report from Fightful Select has claimed that Mustafa Ali could be returning to WWE television in the very near future. The report says that a pitch has been made for Ali to appear as soon as the next edition of Raw on April 25th, although they note that the constant changes to the program mean that it’s difficult to be sure if it will happen.
Back in January, Ali posted a video on social media explaining that he had requested his release from WWE. The star hasn’t wrestled on WWE television since being defeated by Drew McIntyre on the October 29th, 2021, edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
Following the news that Mustafa Ali had asked to leave the company, it was revealed that he was spurred into action following a “heated argument” with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. The disagreement was was in relation to Ali’s creative direction and lack of action in recent months.
However, it was later reported that Ali’s request had been denied, and his deal with WWE had “multiple years” remaining.
Writing on social media back in February, Ali said he would see everyone in “two and a half years.” Seemingly a reference to the time remaining on his WWE contract.
