Multiple Matches Confirmed For NXT TakeOver 36

NXT TakeOver 36

Two more matches have been confirmed for NXT TakeOver 36, taking the total of announced matches for the show up to 5 and seemingly completing the card!

During tonight’s edition of NXT, an additional two matches featuring major stipulations were announced for NXT TakeOver 36 on August 22nd. Early in the show, LA Knight gave Cameron Grimes one more opportunity at the Million Dollar Championship after being continually goaded by Ted DiBiase.

The match was made on a special condition, however: If Grimes fails to capture the title once again, DiBiase will replace him as Knight’s personal butler!

Later, William Regal hosted a face-to-face encounter between Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole to announce that the two will face off in a 2-Out-Of-3 Falls match in their third and decisive battle. Each man got to pick a stipulation for the first two falls with the third being decided by William Regal should the match reach that point.

O’Reilly argued that he didn’t need any weapons to defeat the former NXT Champion and selected a normal wrestling match for his stipulation. Cole, meanwhile, took the exact opposite approach and select a Street Fight for the bout’s second fall. The two got into a brawl and were separated by security before Regal announced that the third fall would be contested inside a Steel Cage.

The two matches join an already stacked TakeOver event featuring 3 more title defences: Dakota Kai will challenge her former friend Raquel González for the NXT Women’s Championship, WALTER and Ilja Dragunov will reignite their heated rivalry as they clash for the NXT UK title and Karrion Kross will put the NXT Championship on the line against the returning Samoa Joe – the latter’s first match in over 18 months.
