It has been revealed that the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali is set to be posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2024.
The induction ceremony is scheduled to take place on April 5th at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in a report by Variety it was revealed that Ali’s widow, Lonnie Ali, will be doing the honours. Fans worldwide can witness the ceremony which will be live-streamed on Peacock, commencing at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT.
Ali’s upcoming induction into the WWE Hall of Fame pays homage to his multifaceted career, which included significant involvement in professional wrestling. Notably, he engaged in a memorable exhibition match against Japanese pro wrestling legend Antonio Inoki in Tokyo in 1976. His connection with the wrestling world further manifested when he made an appearance at a WWWF event, where he entered the ring and famously challenged Gorilla Monsoon.
Ali’s impact on wrestling extended to a special guest referee role at the inaugural WrestleMania event in 1985, overseeing the iconic showdown between Hulk Hogan, Mr. T, Roddy Piper, and Paul Orndorff. Moreover, Ali graced the Collision in Korea pay-per-view event in North Korea in 1995 as the guest of honour, further solidifying his enduring association with professional wrestling.
