Wes Lee and Nash Carter have won the 2021 Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, defeating Grizzled Young Veterans during NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day in only their fourth match!

The finals were an intense bout that saw Grizzled Young Veterans come close to picking up the win following a deadly tope suicida Doomsday Device, but it was ultimately MSK’s spinebuster/blockbuster combination that allowed them to pin the former NXT UK Tag Team Champions and pick up the 2021 Men’s Dusty Cup!

By winning the tournament, the two not only win their very own trophy but also earn a title shot at the NXT Tag Team Championships – currently held by Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch in their first reign.

Despite only joining NXT last month, MSK have already made a huge impact within the black and gold brand. Defeating established tag teams like Legado del Fantasma as well as makeshift alliances like Isiah ‘Swerve’ Scott & Jake Atlas, the former IMPACT stars booked their way to the finals of the 2021 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic as well as their very first NXT TakeOver!

Elsewhere on Vengeance Day, former IMPACT and NWA star Eli Drake made his NXT debut – proclaiming himself as LA Knight – and Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez became the inaugural winners of the Women’s Dusty Classic!
