MSK has made a huge impact since making the jump to WWE as part of NXT. The recent ‘Dusty Cup’ winners have explained how their transition to their new home has been.
Speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Wes Lee and Nash Carter were asked by host Kayla Braxton how their transition had been since joining the black and gold brand in December.
“Honestly, [I’ve just been] training every day with some of the highest class coaches in the world. I didn’t really have that at my disposal. I feel like a professional athlete, and it’s awesome.”
Wes Lee followed that up by explaining how the duo had been made to feel welcome in their new surroundings:
“It’s really cool because it feels like a family. From the moment that we were brought in to now, it never felt like we were alienated from where we came from or the things that we have done. It was just, ‘Hey, you’re apart of this family.’
Formerly two-thirds of ‘The Rascalz’ in IMPACT Wrestling, Carter and Lee debuted as MSK in the first round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. They would go on a run to the final of that tournament which took place at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day. In that match, they would defeat the Grizzled Young Veterans to win the trophy.
MSK left IMPACT Wrestling after two years with the company, and it was expected that their partner at the time Trey Miguel would join the duo in NXT. Miguel opted not to sign with WWE and has since returned to IMPACT Wrestling. He has stated his reasons for not wanting to join WWE at this current time.
