The time all AEW fans have been waiting for is upon us. On Tonight’s episode on AEW Dynamite, Mr. Brodie Lee will defend his coveted AEW TNT Championship against challenger and former champion, Cody, in a Dog Collar Match.
In preparation for the bout, reigning champion Mr. Brodie Lee took to Twitter yesterday to speak about the bout ahead of him as well as what the moment means to him personally.
“The magnitude of tomorrow night’s match is certainly not lost on me. These are exactly the moments I signed up for. The gravity of it all is welcomed and embraced. Big boy champ s**t. Let’s f***ing go! Live your heart and never follow.”

The AEW TNT Champion is clearly ready to seize his moment in time.
His challenger, Cody, also announced his preparation for arguably one of the most important matches in AEW history by posting a video of Arn Anderson recounting the legendary Dog Collar Match between Roddy Piper and Greg Valentine at NWA Starrcade 1983.
The feud began on AEW Saturday Night Dynamite in August when the leader of The Dark Order decimated his challenger in fleeting fashion to lift the gold. Following the bout, Lee and his followers sent a distinct and clear message to the Rhodes family.
While Cody was being stretchered from ringside, ‘The Exalted One’ unleashed a heinous attack and then proceeded to have the rest of The Nightmare Family beaten and dragged onto the stage. Finally, Anna Jay choked out Brandi Rhodes who had appeared to cover the fallen body of her husband.
A few weeks ago, Cody returned to AEW sporting a new look and last week accepted Lee’s challenge to a rematch under Dog Collar rules after he brutally assaulted The Dark Order. The acceptance lead to an all out brawl between The Nightmare Family and The Dark Order.
Tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite will also mark Chris Jericho’s third decade in the industry with a special edition of the programme.
