A new report has offered fresh insight on the issues between CM Punk and Bobby Fish following the former Undisputed Elite star’s attack on Punk’s conduct.
On September 9th, former AEW star Bobby Fish took aim at CM Punk over his backstage conduct following reports that the former AEW World Champion had been involved in a melee with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.
Fish accused Punk of being “a c*nt” following a match between the two on Dynamite on October 27th, 2021. He then said Punk “should be grateful” he laid down his shoulders for him on TV.
Following the airing of Bobby Fish’s comments, Will Washington of Grapsody tweeted a video of the match which showed that Fish seemed to try to kick out of CM Punk’s GTS finisher.
"You ask me to put my shoulders down for Phil Brooks, I go out and do it."
Well, kinda. Might've been a part of the issue. https://t.co/Ck0CLyiu2qpic.twitter.com/tGcdofD4AC

Now, Fightful Select has shed some more light on the situation, with sources having told them that Punk was not happy about the end of the match and that was the catalyst for the animosity between the pair.
The report also notes a veteran who mentioned that Punk took a while to go to the pin, but he was actually selling for Fish at the time. Since the match, there is said to have been little communication between Punk and Fish.
CM Punk is currently suspended from AEW alongside everyone else involved in the backstage altercation following All Out. In addition to this, the star recently underwent surgery for torn triceps which will leave him out of action until 2023.
