More Details On The Elite Re-Signing With AEW

The Elite

There’s some further clarity when it comes to The Elite re-upping their deals with AEW.

A new report from Fightful Select shined some extra light on The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega and Hangman Page staying with the company. The length of the foursome’s new deals are unclear, but at least one was at least said to have something around four years and they were completed over the last couple weeks. The expecations were always there that they’d be staying with the company and as expected Omega along with Matt and Nick Jackson will retain their EVP roles. They were all represented by notorious pro wrestling super agent Barry Bloom, who holds famous clients such as Chris Jericho and Mick Foley.

From the WWE side of the coin, there was some speculation from those within the company thought they stood a chance at signing any or all of them. However, serious talks never occured from what Fightful had heard.

In recent news, Dave Meltzer wrote in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that The Elite voted on whether to stay with AEW or leave for WWE.

Talks About Re-Signing The Elite Were Going Down For Awhile

Fightful also is reporting that AEW got the contract talks turning with The Elite all the way back in January, but sources within AEW did state that CM Punk’s status with the company did slow discussions down. There is no further word as to if The Elite will still work with Punk in the future, but there is some “movement” about a rematch between The Young Bucks and FTR, who are reportedly on amicable terms with one another.

The Elite have always been penned down for tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite 200, Fightful confirmed.
