With Adam Cole out injured a new report has offered an update on the star including the nature of his injury.
Adam Cole hasn’t competed in the ring since defeating Samoa Joe at Double or Nothing. With victory, Cole became the first-ever winner of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
However, although Cole was originally advertised to appear on Dynamite three days later, he was replaced on the card before the show.
In the days that followed it was reported that the former NXT Champion was struggling with an undisclosed injury. Despite this, it was noted that he will be back in action at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 26th.
A fresh report from Fightful Select has now offered some more information on Cole’s status. The report states that the star has been “banged up” for a while, dealing with a series of injuries for an extended period.
More specifically, Cole has been working through a labrum injury since his World Championship program with Hangman Adam Page. It is unclear as to how serious the injury is or whether it will cause him to miss any upcoming shows.
Elsewhere, AEW President Tony Khan recently hinted that some of AEW’s injured stars could be returning to action very soon.
At present, Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson, Sting, CM Punk and Kenny Omega are all out of action while stars such as Darius Martin and Anthony Bowens are also currently injured. Although in Bowens case, he has remained on television.
The most intriguing name on a list of potential returns is that of Kenny Omega. The former AEW Champion hasn’t wrestled since Full Gear in November 2021 where he lost his World Title to Hangman Adam Page.
