More AEW Departures Expected Following Latest Talent Exit

AEW Star Not Cleared To Compete, Leading To

More AEW stars are expected to leave the company following the latest talent departure.

Earlier this week, it was reported that long-time AEW talent Leyla Hirsch would be leaving the company. Hirsch’s contract reportedly expired on February 28th, making her an immediate free agent and ending her almost four-year run with the company.

Hirsch’s exit comes just weeks after Malakai Black, Miro and Ricky Starks also left the promotion. Based on comments from Bryan Alvarez on Hirsch’s departure during the latest Wrestling Observer Live, more AEW departures are likely coming throughout March.

“I think that this will not be the last time you hear this story in the month of March. I have heard that there might be some departures coming up in March. Whether it’s people being released, people’s deals coming up and not being renewed. I think the fact of the matter is, they got way too many people under contract…”

“I think I can comfortably say she will not be the last in the next 30 days.”

WWE Reportedly Preparing For Arrival Of Signed AEW Star

One star many fans wouldn’t be surprised to see leave Tony Khan’s promotion is Rey Fenix. The former AEW World Tag Team Champion has been vocal about wanting to leave the promotion, especially in the wake of his long-time tag team partner Penta finding great success in WWE.

According to a recent report, WWE is said to be making plans in preparation for Fenix joining the company. However, there’s no indication that he’s left AEW at the time of writing.
