Several more stars have been added to the upcoming biopic about the famed Von Erich wrestling family.
Earlier this year, Deadline exclusively reported that Zac Efron and Sean Durkin have partnered up for the upcoming biopic, TheIron Claw.
Durkin will write the screenplay for The Iron Claw which will depict the sad story of the famed Von Erich family. Famously, Kerry, Mike, and Chris Von Erich all tragically took their own lives following the sudden passing of their brother David.
Fritz Von Erich, who passed away from brain and lung cancer, was the promoter of the acclaimed World Class Championship Wrestling organisation in Dallas, Texas.
Efron will portray Kevin Von Erich, the last surviving son of Fritz. His own sons, Ross and Marshall, have continued the family’s legacy, having competed for Major League Wrestling and won their World Tag Team Championship.
Now, Deadline has reported that more roles have now been cast, with Jeremy Allen White set to portray Kerry Von Erich and Harris Dickinson playing David.
White is currently starring on the hit FX comedy-drama, The Bear, which sees a chef from the fine dining world return to run his family’s sandwich shop in Chicago after his older brother takes his own life.
Dickinson’s breakout role came in another FX show, Trust, in which he played John Paul Getty III. The limited series was based on the true story of the wealthy Getty family and followed the abduction of Dickinson’s character.
